While kids are used to seeing animals from all around the world in the zoo, they don’t necessarily know where they came from. This Baby Einstein DVD goes continent by continent and shows several of the animals that are native to that region.
Animals around the World
Starting off with Animals of Africa, zebras, giraffes, elephants, camels, and lions are shown, interspersed with fun segments with the Baby Einstein puppets. The Animals of South America include parrots, llamas, frogs, and monkeys. They are also interspersed with the Baby Einstein puppets
The Animals of Asia show pandas, elephants, tigers, and snow monkeys. Not only are the animals shown on video, but also with toys and drawings. The Polar Regions are home to penguins, seals, polar bears and the arctic fox.
Sheep and Swans come from Europe, and in North America there are horses, iguanas, buffalo, and bears. Australia is home to kangaroos, clown fish (remember Nemo?), crocodiles, and koalas.
By repeating the names and pictures of the animals, kids learn to associate the animals with their correct name. The repetition reinforces the lesson of what kind of animals are being shown.
